How to Increase Energy Naturally So Your Body Can Repair, Heal and Thrive

Low energy has been so normalised that most women barely question it anymore.

We joke about surviving on coffee and wear exhaustion like a badge of honour.

But energy isn't just about whether you feel awake enough to get through your day.

Energy is what allows your body to keep you alive.

Every heartbeat requires energy,

Every breath, every hormone your body produces.

Every immune system cell looking for abnormal cells.

Every time your liver removes toxins.

Every time your gut digests your food.

Every single one of these jobs requires energy.

We have over 100 billion processes and cells in the body, so the body requires ALOT of energy.

So if you're struggling just to make it through the day, it's worth asking yourself this:

How much energy does your body have left to repair itself?

This is one of the biggest conversations I have with women inside my ONE LIFE programme. They come to me believing they're just tired, when in reality their bodies have been surviving for years without enough resources to truly thrive.

Your Body Always Prioritises Survival

Your body is incredibly intelligent and we really do not give it enough credit.

Its first job is to keep you alive.

If energy becomes limited, it starts making decisions about where that energy needs to go.

Your heart keeps beating.

Your lungs keep breathing.

Your brain keeps functioning.

Those systems always come first.

But producing hormones, repairing damaged cells, supporting your immune system, reducing inflammation, and processing toxins all require energy too.

and they end up becoming less.

I experienced this myself when my body stopped my periods due to me undernourishing myself.

This is why low energy should never be ignored.

It's your body's way of asking for support.

We've Normalised Living in Survival Mode

Many women spend years living in a constant state of stress.

With running businesses, raising families, skipping meals and sleeping less.

Living on caffeine.

Rushing from one thing to the next.

Eventually, feeling exhausted becomes their normal.

Brain fog becomes normal.

Afternoon crashes become normal.

Feeling wired at night but exhausted in the morning becomes normal.

The problem is that just because something is common doesn't mean normal or it's healthy.

Your body isn't asking for another coffee.

It's asking for the opportunity to recover.

Your Daily Energy Budget

I like to explain energy as though your body has £100 to spend each day.

If your daily living costs £40, you still have plenty left over.

Your body can repair.

Your immune system can function well.

Hormones have enough resources.

Inflammation can be controlled.

But imagine your daily costs increase to £95.

You're still surviving, but there's almost nothing left.

That's exactly what happens when your body is dealing with:

  • Chronic stress

  • Poor sleep

  • Blood sugar imbalances

  • Ultra processed foods

  • Skipping meals

  • Alcohol

  • Nutrient deficiencies

  • Hormone imbalance

  • Environmental toxins

  • Constant rushing

Every one of these quietly withdraws from your body's energy account.

Eventually, there's very little left for the jobs that protect your long term health.

My Own Wake Up Call

Years ago I was running two businesses.

I barely stopped.

I wasn't eating enough.

I wasn't sleeping enough.

Stress became my normal.

Eventually, my periods disappeared.

At the time I believed my hormones were broken.

Looking back now, I see that my body wasn't failing.

It was protecting me.

Reproduction wasn't essential when my body believed it was living through constant stress.

That experience completely changed how I understand health.

Today, when a woman tells me she's exhausted, I ask why her body is spending so much energy simply trying to survive.

Low Energy Is Rarely Just About Motivation

One of my clients came to me believing she lacked motivation.

She blamed herself for constantly feeling tired.

After looking deeper, we found multiple factors draining her energy.

Her blood sugar was unstable.

Her stress levels were high.

She had mineral imbalances.

As we supported her body instead of fighting against it, her energy returned.

She slept better.

Her digestion improved.

She felt calmer.

She finally felt like herself again.

That's what happens when we stop trying to force energy and start creating the conditions for it.

The Link Between Energy, Hormones and Long Term Health

This is why I spend so much time talking about hormone imbalance and cancer risk.

Hormones don't work in isolation.

They're influenced by stress, nutrition, sleep, inflammation, mineral status and the environment around us.

When your body constantly lacks energy, hormone production can become compromised.

Over time, chronic stress, inflammation and poor hormone regulation can contribute to wider health concerns. Supporting these systems early gives your body the best possible chance to stay resilient.

This is why prevention matters long before disease ever develops.

Toxins and Women's Health Matter More Than Most People Realise

Another hidden drain on your body's energy is your environment.

Every day your liver works to process chemicals, pollutants and other substances you're exposed to.

The more work your body has to do, the greater the demand on your energy reserves.

This is why I educate women about toxins and women's health.

Reducing unnecessary exposure isn't about having to be perfect.

It's about lowering the workload on your body so it has more capacity to repair, regulate hormones and support your immune system.

And this is exactly why I created my own Non-Toxic clothing brand CLOCO.

How to Lower Inflammation Naturally

One of the most effective ways to support your energy is to reduce the things that quietly create inflammation.

Simple daily habits make a huge difference over time.

Eating enough protein.

Balancing blood sugar.

Prioritising quality sleep.

Managing stress.

Eating more colourful whole foods.

Supporting gut health.

Moving your body regularly.

Reducing ultra processed foods.

These habits don't just improve how you feel today.

They help create an internal environment where your body has enough energy to heal and protect itself for years to come. Chronic inflammation is linked with many long term health conditions, making these daily habits an important part of prevention.

Small Questions That Can Tell You a Lot

Pause for a moment and ask yourself:

  • Do I wake up feeling refreshed?

  • Am I relying on caffeine to function?

  • Am I eating enough protein?

  • Do I spend every day rushing?

  • Am I sleeping enough for my body to repair?

  • Do I ever give my body time to recover?

These aren't questions to make you feel guilty.

They're clues.

Your body is communicating with you every single day.

Energy Is About More Than Feeling Better

Imagine waking up with energy because your body has what it needs.

Your hormones feel supported.

Your immune system has the resources to do its job.

Your body has the capacity to repair damaged cells.

You think clearly.

You enjoy exercise again.

You no longer spend every afternoon counting down until bedtime.

Most importantly, you know your daily choices are supporting your future health.

That is what cancer prevention for women looks like.

Living in a way that consistently supports your body.

When you build your health day after day, you don't just feel better now.

You create the conditions to reduce cancer risk naturally while protecting the future version of yourself.

The woman who reaches 50 feeling vibrant.

The woman who reaches 60 knowing she has spent years supporting her body instead of constantly fighting against it.

That confidence is priceless.
